Bristol players and Umps at the Euro Super Cup in Czech Republic




Kirsty Leach and David Lee representing H2O and the Chromies both picked up awards and medals in this years Euro Clubs Super Cup Championship in Mlade Buky in the north west of Czech Republic… In 29 – 35 degree heat both teams played 10 competitive games over 5 days at 3 different fields in the Czech Ski resort of Trutnov and Mlade Buky

12 Teams contested the Bi Annual event from a total of 7 different European countries including  Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium and Slovenia . In 2016 the organisers are expecting as many as 20 teams to compete.

The Chromies finished as runners up ( Silver) after being beaten 8-4  in the final by the German team UCE Travelers… The Germans had also beaten H2O earler the same day relegating the tournament favorites to 3rd place ( Bronze)

Kirsty made an outstanding impression with the bat over the week and so deservedly won the female best batter award to add to her Bronze medal.

Three current and one ex Bristol umpire were also involved in the event.  Pete Saunders, Tony Seterio and Hans Daanen umpired at least 2/3 games a day along with our ex Committee Chair Chris Moon who was also heavily relied upon by the Umpiring team .. a team containing Umps form 8 different countries.
